App launched to fight aquatic pests

The Department of Fisheries has stepped up the fight against aquatic pests with the launch of a new smartphone app – WA PestWatch.

The free app for iOS and Android phones and tablets allows users to report aquatic pests and diseases that potentially turn up in our rivers and oceans.

Users of the app can also track other pest reports and access additional information about common marine and freshwater pests.

A web-based version of the reporting tool is also available on the Department’s website.

Aquatic pests can also be reported using the Department's FishWatch service on 1800 815 507 or by email to biosecurity@fish.wa.gov.au.
