Whale entanglement mitigation information

​From 1 May 2015 new modified whale entanglement mitigation measures were put in place for the West Coast Rock Lobster Managed Fishery. These measures are designed to reduce the risk of whale entanglements in the fishery during the whale migration season. For details see the April 2015 Whale Entanglement Mitigation Measures letter to industry on the industry notice board.

To assist fishers with entering the coordinates for Schedule 14 of the Management Plan as referred to in the April 2015 letter to industry, we have provided the GPX (GPS exchange Format) and C-plot files below.

Further instructions on how to use these files is included in each download.

Please be aware that while this information has been provided to assist fishers, it remains the fisher’s responsibility to ensure they are operating in accordance with the West Coast Rock Lobster Managed Fishery Management Plan 2012, which can be found under Western Australian Fisheries Legislation.
