Current aquaculture applications

Stay up to date on aquaculture applications

After the Department has received a completed application for the grant or variation of an aquaculture licence on non-freehold land or waters, the application is reviewed by the Aquaculture Management Directorate and consultation processes follow.  

Comments are sought from internal staff, the public, industry and other stakeholders.

Current aquaculture applications open for public comment can be viewed on the Department’s public comment and consultation page. You can also subscribe to our email list  to be informed when new applications are posted.

Recent Decisions

Following consultation, and with consideration to specific assessment criteria, the applicant’s Management and Environmental Monitoring Plan and licence conditions, advice is provided to the decision making body in a Statement of Decision.
