Demersal closure species

The take or landing of the following demersal scalefish is prohibited within the West Coast bioregion during the closed seasons:

  • 1 February to 28 March 2024 (inclusive)
  • 1 August to 15 September 2024 (inclusive)
  • 15 October to 15 December 2024 (inclusive).

Western blue groper Achoerodus gouldii

*More species exist under these families of species that are found in tropical waters to the north and are rarely captured in the west coast. However, the family classification means they are covered in these groups if they are captured in the west coast bioregion during the closure.​​​
