Baldchin recreational fishing

We manage recreational fishing for baldchin groper by using size and daily bag limits, among other measures.

When fishing with the use of a powered vessel, a Recreational Fishing from Boat Licence is required.

There is a closed season for recreational fishing for demersal species, including baldchin groper, in the West Coast Bioregion; any baldchin groper caught must be returned to the water immediately.

It is compulsory to possess a release weight when fishing for demersal fish, including baldchin groper, in the West Coast Bioregion.

Information on fishing rules for baldchin groper including size and bag limits can be found online or in our Statewide Recreational fishing guide.
