Prawn Resource in Shark Bay

The Minister for Fisheries intends to determine a new Harvest Strategy for the prawn resource in Shark Bay and invites interested persons to comment on the Draft Harvest Strategy.

The publication of a harvest strategy for an aquatic resource makes decision making considerations and processes publicly transparent and provides a basis for informed dialogue on management actions with resource users and other stakeholders. 

The Draft Prawn Resource of Shark Bay Harvest Strategy 2022-2027​ contains specific objectives, performance indicators, reference levels and harvest control rules for the defined ecological asset and is now available for review.

Interested persons seeking to comment on the Draft Harvest Strategy are invited to make representation in writing by 5:00 pm 31 May 2022 to:
