Trawling in the northern hemisphere has been practiced intensively for many decades and the way it has been carried out has resulted in a bad reputation for this fishing method. In contrast, Western Australia's trawl fisheries are relatively young, non-intensive and have a very different approach that resembles traditional farming, as Steve Ireland reveals.
