Commercial Fishing

Western Australia has over 35 commercial fisheries with specific management plans under the Fish Resources Management Act 1994, with another 15 under management through regulations and a variety of subsiduary legisaltion.

On average, our commercial fisheries are worth over $400 million annually, with the majority of our high-quality high-value products being exported. The current status of these fisheries can be found in the annual ‘State of the Fisheries' report.
