From data on the densities of fish caught in a unit area swept, an estimate of the biomass in that area can be obtained.
Australian Fishing Zone Australia has proclaimed a 200-nautical-mile-wide zone around its mainland and territories coasts, within which it controls domestic and foreign access to fish resources.
