herring are named because they look similar
to herring found in the northern hemisphere. Australian
herring are actually perch and are native to Australian
waters. Adult herring eat small fish such as garfish,
pilchards, anchovies and prawns.

dragons are unique. They can be found in areas
that have seagrass, seaweed beds and around limestone
reefs. They have body parts that look like seaweed
that help them hide in the seagrass.
Sea
dragons have a courting ritual that takes place
before they mate. During this time the male goes
through rapid colour changes when passing close
to the female.

can be found in the Swan River and other estuaries
during the dry summer months. They are eventually
leave the rivers and estuaries and move to the
ocean during winter.
