How we fish now will decide the future of Western Australia's recreational fishing. Everyone involved in this activity needs to take personal responsibility for helping to conserve fish stocks.
The Recreational Fishing Advisory Committee gave the following view of recreational fishing:
"To aim to catch a feed for oneself and family and, for a variety of personal reasons, to enjoy the experience along the way."
This aim was supported by thousands of fishers across the state.
