Wanted - Tailor and Australian Herring Frames

Department of Fisheries researchers are currently investigating the age composition and reproductive patterns of Australian herring and tailor in the south-west region. This biological information is needed to provide an up-to-date picture of the stock structure of these popular angling fish and to identify spawning locations for tailor.

The frames can be frozen without affecting their usefulness for research, so you can collect a few before dropping them off.

Label your frames with your name, address for sending research feedback, date and time of capture, and location to within to 1nm. Any information from you is confidential and only used for research purposes.

Fish frames can be dropped off at our many locations. See the pdf below for information on locations and prizes, or contact Mike Hammond, phone 9203 0111.
