WA Demersal Net & Hook Fishery Management Advisory Committee

The WA Demersal Net and Hook Fishery Management Advisory Committee is established under Section 41 of the Fish Resources Management Act 1994. Its function is to provide information and advice to the Minister on matters related to the protection and management of:

  • The Joint Authority Southern Demersal Gillnet and Demersal Longline Managed Fishery;
  • The West Coast Demersal Gillnet and Demersal Longline Interim Managed Fishery; and
  • Those Fishing Boat Licences which hold Condition 127

(together called "the Fishery").

Membership of the WA Demersal Net & Hook Fishery Management Advisory Committee


This committee is in abeyance pending the outcome of a Ministerial review of all Management Advisory Committees established under Section 41 of the Fish Resources Management Act 1994. All membership terms have expired and lapsed without any replacement reappointments or new appointments.

Meetings

The WA Demersal Net and Hook Fishery Management Advisory Committee meets one to two times per year, following which a report is forwarded from the Chairman to the Minister for his consideration.
