Government of Western Australia - Department of Fisheries

Monica Mumme

In 2006, Monica Mumme joined the Freshwater team as a data entry operator.

As a research officer now, she is responsible for managing and maintaining the Freshwater Fish Distribution database - a repository of data used to identify the distribution, threats and management options for the conservation of native fish populations in Western Australia.

Her role also includes historical research of the Pemberton Hatchery to ensure its heritage is documented and preserved for future generations.

Ms Mumme and her team produce the quarterly Freshwater Guardian e-newsletter to share their freshwater research and the fascinating world of native freshwater fish with the community.
