Dr Michael Snow

​Dr Michael Snow is a marine scientist with 20 years' experience in leading and delivering research, policy and scientific advice to government to support the sustainable management of marine ecosystems.

His past experience includes leading a team of molecular biologists to provide diagnostic and research services to support sustainable fisheries and aquaculture in Scotland.

He specialises in the development and application of molecular tools to detect, identify and characterise marine organisms and their pathogens.

In 2011 Dr Snow moved to Western Australia and took on the role of  Supervising Scientist at Fisheries. He now heads a team of scientists and technical staff responsible for delivering research, monitoring and management advice in the areas of aquaculture, fish health, marine biosecurity, freshwater ecosystems and marine environmental monitoring.
