Eco-tick for Mandurah’s crab fishery

In a world first, both recreational and commercial sectors of the Peel-Harvey blue swimmer crab fishery have achieved sustainability certification.

The fishery has been awarded independent third-party certification to Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) standards – considered globally as the highest benchmark for ecologically sustainable fishing.

MSC certification, achieved through the joint efforts of the commercial and recreational fishing sectors, confirms that this prized fishery is well managed and sustainable.

Also, the Peel-Harvey sea mullet fishery has become the first finfish fishery in the Western Australia to receive MSC certification.
