The latest North West fishing rules on show in July

Visiting the East Kimberley during the July school holidays? Then head to our stand at the Kununurra Agricultural show on 13-14 July for information on recreational fishing in the region, including licences, bag and size limits, possession limits, legal gear and much more.

We always have plenty of fun, interactive games for children and adults at our stand. You can also ask us about our online fishing rules, as well as information on the possession and use of fish traps in or near WA waters.

The use of fish traps is banned due to the potential impacts on aquatic life, however, there are two exceptions – the use of modified ‘opera house’ traps to target feral Queensland redclaw in Lake Kununurra, or in dams not fed by WA waters on private property. Fish traps must not be carried on boats in WA waters at any time.

You’ll also be able to find out about the new North Kimberley Marine Park – WA’s largest marine park and the second largest in Australia. The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ Parks and Wildlife division will be there, as well as staff from the Department of Transport.

Drop in, say hi and grab a new fish ruler sticker.

Follow our Facebook page for more information about our regional show displays across the State.

You can also download our Recreational fishing guide in booklet size or the A4 print-friendly version.
