Streamlined approvals process available

We’ve developed a streamlined automated approvals process for non-commercial stocking of trout which will cut red tape, make the process easier, and maintain the integrity of our biosecurity in WA.

Trout can be stocked in farm dams and closed system aquaponics in areas of the State considered low risk, if certain conditions are met, and they are unable to escape to impact on natural aquatic systems.

Under the new process, applicants will be able to check that the location where they plan to stock the trout is in an acceptable area. They can then determine if they can meet all of the conditions.

If yes and the form is submitted, the applicant will immediately receive an automated approval by email.
