Shark patrols stepped up off Perth’s northern beaches

With warm weather forecast for the weekend, additional measures are being introduced for shark hazard mitigation.

From first light today Fisheries and Marine Officers will be deployed to Hillarys, Ocean Reef and Mindarie boat ramps to alert the public of the risk.

Department of Fisheries vessels will also be present on the water, in proximity to the Shark Monitoring Network (SMN) receivers at Ocean Reef and Mullaloo.

Surf Life Saving WA’s (SLSWA’s) helicopter will provide increased patrols and aerial surveillance in the area.
