Shark alerts on Twitter

Social media is playing a key role in providing the public with news about shark sightings and safety information.

We are working closely with Surf Life Saving WA which reports shark sightings through their Twitter and Facebook accounts. If you are a follower of SLSWA’s Twitter feed make sure to note their new username @SLSWA.

If you don’t have a Twitter account, the SLSWA twitter feed can be viewed at http://twitter.com/SLSWA or through this link.

So the WA community can be provided with as much information as possible, the Water Police on 9442 8600 should be contacted as soon as a shark is spotted.
