COVID-19 Relief Measures for commercial fishing in WA

The COVID-19 pandemic has had significant economic impacts on the commercial fishing and aquaculture industry in Western Australia.

In consultation with the WA Fishing Industry Council, a range of licence fees will be waived and access fee payments deferred to reduce cash flow burdens on the commercial seafood sector. These include licences for commercial fishing, aquaculture, processing, pearling and fishing tour operators.

Download or view our factsheet for more information about:
• fee waivers/reductions and licence application fees;
• access fee deferrals and review;
• Marine Stewardship Council certified fisheries;
• suspension of South Coast Marine Park Process;
• air freight support; and
• other commercial fishery measures.

COVID-19 Hotline
A 13 COVID Hotline (13 26 843) has been established to help answer questions West Australians have on the current COVID-19 State of Emergency.  This hotline provides options for callers including prerecorded information, direction to appropriate websites and direction to call centres for specific information.
