Aquaculture goes digital

We have launched a new online form system to streamline aquaculture licence applications or make a variation to an existing licence.

The new service is part of a program to expand aquaculture opportunities to make it easier for companies looking to set up operations in the State.

Accessing the online system, applicants can register, submit, review progress and correspond with our aquaculture team throughout its assessment.

The service also has capability for online payments and will be further expanded with additional forms and services in 2018.

Western Australia’s aquaculture industry is expanding and diversifying with signs of accelerated growth particularly in species such as barramundi, yellowtail kingfish, abalone, mussels and edible oysters.

The freshwater sector is also attracting new investment.
