All clear for Mindarie Marina algae bloom

The following release was issued by the Department of Health.

The Department of Health has lifted a recent warning to avoid contact with water containing red tide algae in Mindarie marina.

Recent water tests have confirmed that algae levels at the marina had returned to levels which mean that swimming, wading, fishing, canoeing and other recreational activities can now be undertaken safely.

As not all waterways are always monitored for algal blooms, anyone who sees or suspects an algal bloom in a waterway should report it to the Department of Water's ALGALWATCH during office hours on 6250 8064 or to the local council.

Further information regarding algal blooms is available on the Department’s consumer website.
